Solar Eclipse in Solar Sign: Aries 8°

This Solar Saros series #139 belongs to the 8N Solar Eclipse family. The front page tells more about times and locations. The originating eclipse was May 17, 1501 (corrected to May 27, 1501 in our calendar system). The Eclipse occurred at 4° 51' Gemini and many of those influences from the original eclipse carry over into the current eclipses of Saros 139. The energies of Mercury's intellect and the Moon's sensitivity are combined to create an instinctive drive that is logical even without much thought. Saturn and Mercury were also in Gemini at the time of this original eclipse, adding to the urge to communicate effectively and concisely. Comprehension at the most basic level is the theme of the Solar Saros 139 eclipses.

This Solar Eclipse occurs in Aries, blending an action-oriented purpose to the energies. We have our sights set, and are willing to give up on other projects that may no longer hold our interest. With the Trine to Saturn Retrograde in Leo, we lose the edge that this would normally bring. We are not as focused as we should be. The Sextile to Chiron in Aquarius does have a healing quality to it though. If we can tap into some patience and regroup or at least make definite decisions on some of the older projects, we are likely to learn why we have given up before heading in a new direction. Not that the new direction is inappropriate, but more that we need to comprehend why the other did not work before taking on new projects so that we don't simply repeat non-productive patterns in the process.

Mercury in Pisces is in an excellent position for developing new ideas. Mercury's conjunction with Uranus usually results in "brilliant" new ideas. Plus the trine to Jupiter Retrograde in Scorpio is keeping a check on the Mercury/Uranus distractions that can be caused from Too Many ideas at once. Jupiter's Retrograde is not so expansive as it is when moving direct, so that influence actually lends a more productive influence to the intellect and inspiration. You should also like how the Venus and Neptune conjunction in Aquarius adds to our bursts of intelligence but in a more creative and dynamic way. Even the square from Jupiter to Venus and Neptune is helpful as it pushes us to problem solve rather than merely drifting along waiting for the "right moment" in time. Opportunities will be quite prevalent under this Solar Eclipse influence.

The trines from Venus and Neptune to Mars in Gemini is a signal that parties and family gatherings are excellent opportunities to bond and renew connections. We may not totally comprehend what purpose it serves at the time, but we will figure it out in about a month. There will be a mutual inspiration and profound connections made beyond the normal channels of communication. Mars is preparing to move into an opposition with Pluto in Sagittarius. Watch your own temper and get out of the path of others who seemingly go on senseless rampages between March 30 - April 14. Getting your message across may involve acting in good conscience while allowing yourself to be open to another's ethnicity which may be completely different. You may be seeing the situation from a perspective that simply ignores any other concepts. Allow yourself to be a bit more philosophical and leave the judgment at the doorstep for the next few weeks.

What we are lacking in this Solar Eclipse chart is the element of Earth. We may not be getting the necessary ground or stability that we need in order to see the "big picture." We have these great ideas, and loads of motivation. But are we being realistic in our choices? That will be lacking for the next three weeks, so we really do need to make certain to add that concept into our choices when evaluating our options. We will, undoubtedly, be granted many great options. Making the right choices will be the difficult task during this New Moon Eclipse!

During this eclipse, Sun and Moon trine Saturn, sextile Chiron, quintile Mars, octile Venus and septile Neptune. Mars and Jupiter are bi-quintile, and Saturn bi-quintiles Pluto and Mercury/Uranus. Jupiter and Mercury/Uranus are trine, and Venus/Neptune trine Mars and square Jupiter. Aquarius/Pisces/Aries are strongly represented.

We can expect a 6 month trend characterized by the active pursuit of love and understanding, and a strong drive to find new ways to create dynamic change in the world, and deepen interpersonal relationships.
