Numerology is the Science of Numbers, it is a method that can be used to deduce the hidden nature or character of any person, being, or object, even though there are people who believe that Numerology can only be used by the use of Names and/or Birthdates. Actually, Numerology can be used to discover the hidden secrets in any and all things, living or dead – or from the past, present or future.

There are several types of analysis which are most commonly used. The first being what is termed, the “Name Analysis,” and secondly, the “Birthdate Analysis”. The first method utilizes the numbers of a person, place or thing and the second method uses Birthdates in an attempt to solve the question of mystical “Identity.”

Numerology can be used as a practical method of understanding your deeper nature, your talents and life goals, and your hidden characteristics, as well as your opportunities and challenges. It can offer valuable insight and a unique perspective, helping us to recognize the life cycles we all experience during the course of our lives.

Numerology can also offer guidance in the areas of Career, Romance and Prosperity. In summation, Numerology is a valuable self-help tool that can provide a way to gain greater insight and understanding into our inner beings and true natures. There is recorded evidence of Numerology's use ten thousand years ago, proving that it was in use in several ancient cultures such as those of Greece, China, Rome and Egypt.

Numerology embraces the interesting belief that each individual enters into a given life by choice of free will, and incarnates at a chosen time into a particular environment, one that will give that being an opportunity to further evolve it’s Divine Consciousness. Numerology affords us all an opportunity to become more aware of ourselves, the talents we possess, and the unique Path we have chosen to take in order to utilize these individualized abilities.

Numerologists commonly work with the numbers One through Nine; however, certain Numerologists also work with the numbers past Nine. These numbers are considered the “Master Numbers,” and are commonly considered to consist of the numbers Eleven (11) and Twenty-Two (22). Together with the numbers One through Nine, these numbers encompass the entirety of the archetypal experiences that life can offer to us, in our earthly incarnations.

PYTHAGORAS

Pythagoras, Father of Numerology

(b. 569 BC – d. 475 BC)
Samos, Ionia, Greece

Pythagoras was born in Samos, Ionia in what is now known as ancient Greece. He was a Philosopher and Mathematician, and is generally considered to be the founder of Numerology. Numerology incorporates the Pythagorean belief that "all things can be expressed in numerical terms because all things are ultimately reducible to numbers."

Pythagoras founded a philosophical and religious school in the city of Kroton, located in Southern Italy. There, he where he taught the subjects of Mathematics, Astronomy, and Music. In addition, Pythagoras was also the Head of a respected society containing an inner circle of staunch followers that was known as the “Mathematikoi.” The members of the Mathematikoi permanently resided with the other members of Society. These students retained no personal worldly possessions, and strictly adhered vegetarian diets. They were taught by Pythagoras himself and obeyed stringent group rules. Of note, the particular beliefs held by Pythagoras were as follows:

“At it’s deepest level, reality is mathematical in nature.”

“Philosophy can be used for spiritual purification.”

“The soul can rise to union with the divine.”

“Certain symbols have a mystical significance.”

“All brothers of the Order should observe strict loyalty and secrecy.”

"Number rules the universe."

"Every man has been made by God in order to acquire knowledge and contemplate."

Pythagoras believed that the relationships that exist between all things could be reduced to particular numbers. Another respected ancient Greek Philosopher, Aristotle, wrote:

“The Pythagorean ... having been brought up in the study of Mathematics, thought that things were numbers ... and that the whole Cosmos is a scale and a number.”

According to Pythagoras, numbers even possessed personalities. Aristotle further wrote:

"Each number had its own personality -- masculine or feminine, perfect or incomplete, beautiful or ugly. This feeling modern Mathematics has deliberately eliminated, but we still find overtones of it in fiction and poetry. According to Pythagoras, Ten was the very best number: it contained in itself the first four integers, One, Two, Three, and Four,
[1 + 2 + 3 + 4 = 10], and these numbers, written in dot notation, formed a perfect triangle."

It displays each letter in the alphabet, under which is listed the Corresponding Number for that letter. These numbers are then used to calculate the various aspects that make up an individual’s personal Numerology Chart based on either the Birth Name, or the Birthdate of the individual.

The following Numerology Chart is the one most commonly used in what is termed, “The Western Tradition” of Numerology. It displays each letter in the alphabet, under which is listed the Corresponding Number for that letter. These numbers are then used to calculate the various aspects that make up an individual’s personal Numerology Chart based on either the Birth Name, or the Birthdate of the individual.

*Note: Only the Numbers 1-9 have numbers attributed to them. The Master Numbers (11, 22 & 33) are used as Result Numbers, they are only listed on this Chart for your convenience in looking up their Meanings.
